ICORE
ICORE (International Confederation of Revolver Enthusiasts) matches are held on the first Monday of each month, beginning at 4:30 PM. These matches are fast-paced events, where the shooter engages multiple targets while moving around obstacles.
- Guns:
- Revolvers must be of .32 caliber or larger. Double action revolvers are best suited for this game.
- Ammo:
- Ammunition must have a power factor of 120 or more. Power factor is calculated by multiplying bullet weight x velocity and dividing by 1000. For example, a 38 special 158 gr. bullet traveling at 800 fps is calculated as follows:
158 x 800 = 126400
126400/1000 = 126.4 power factor.
Magnum calibers are not needed, and will probably have a negative impact on the shooter?s score, due to the excessive noise and recoil.
- Other Gear:
- Shooters will need a hip holster (strong side carry only ? no cross draw rigs), speed loaders and ammo carriers that attach to the belt. Shooters will also need eye and ear protection.
- Scoring:
- Your score is the amount of time used to complete the course of fire, plus more time added for poor hits on the targets. Each shooter?s final score is the combined times from all stages of fire, plus extra time added for poor hits on the targets and any other penalties earned.
- Schedule:
- ICORE matches are held on the first Monday of each month, beginning at 4:30 PM.
- Fees and requirements:
- A match normally requires 60 to 80 rounds per shooter, with a match fee of $5.
USPSA
USPSA (United States Practical Shooting Associaiton) matches are held on the second Monday of each month, beginning at 4:30 PM. These matches are fast-paced events, where the shooter engages multiple targets while moving around obstacles.
- Guns:
- Handguns may be semi-automatics or revolvers of 9mm caliber or larger. There are several categories, based on the type of gun being used:
- Open
- for guns using barrel ports or compensators, and optical sights.
- Limited
- for iron sighted guns without barrel ports or compensators.
- Limited 10
- for Limited guns loading no more than 10 rounds per magazine.
- Production
- for double action or safe action semi-autos loading no more than 10 rounds per magazine.
- Revolver
- for iron sighted revolvers without barrel ports or compensators, loading no more than six rounds at a time.
- Ammo:
- Ammunition must have a power factor of 125 or more. Power factor is calculated by multiplying bullet weight x velocity and dividing by 1000. For example, a 9mm 115 gr. bullet traveling at 1100 fps is calculated as follows:
115 x 1100 = 126500
126500/1000 = 126.5 power factor.
Magnum calibers are not needed, and will probably have a negative impact on the shooter?s score, due to the excessive noise and recoil.
- Other Gear:
- Shooters will need a hip holster (strong side carry only ? no cross draw rigs), extra magazines or speed loaders and ammo carriers that attach to the belt. Shooters will also need eye and ear protection.
- Scoring:
- Your score is based on your speed and accuracy. Each shot has a maximum value of 5 points. Your point total is divided by the time you take to complete the course of fire.
- Schedule:
- USPSA matches are held on the second Monday of each month, beginning at 4:30 PM.
- Fees and requirements:
- A match normally requires 70 to 80 rounds per shooter, with a match fee of $8.

115 x 1100 = 126500
126500/1000 = 126.5 power factor.
- Other Gear:
- Shooters will need a hip holster (strong side carry only ? no cross draw rigs), extra magazines or speed loaders, and ammo carriers that attach to the belt. Shooters will also need eye and ear protection.
